In this time of unrest, i wanted to forward to you this video so that you may understand what policing is all about, what you are hearing on the news these days is not the portrayal of the cops who work hard each and every day, it is not about race, its about the law and enforcement of the law, and the select few you dont like authority no matter where it comes from, I worked those streets, my 30 years out there tells me that, the cop while responding does not know what he is actually responding too, the people he approaches assumes that he knows all, they assume that the cop is aware that they had committed a crime one day ago, or a weeks ago, or maybe that they killed someone several years ago, they assume the cop is after them, when all it was was a noise complaint or parking situation, and then in a matter of millie seconds its on, you live or you die, we walk those streets day in and day out to protect the innocent the people that cannot protect themselves, the store owner just barely keeping his head above water, every life is precious criminal or not, and nobody should die out there, but let us not forget that these people were criminals, and their death though tragic did not have to happen, all they had to do was comply with lawful orders of the police and not be confrontational sorry for running on, I miss the job but im glad that I dont have to deal with this crap that the media keeps flaming Be safe out there *******this is from my friend Rich Okovic retired.
