(Inbox) Hi, I was in a relationship with a guy for 11 months. We broke it off for many reasons but the main one was religion. I come from a Muslim family and when I met him, he showed interest in the religion going back to at least 2 years before he met me . He was exited about the conversion and even fantasizing about a life in a middle eastern country with kids and a big close family. It all changed when he told his family he was converting, which upset them very much. He wasnt converting for me but for his own interest, but he suddenly backed off from the idea without his familys support. We both love each other dearly but thought its best to let go, because I cant marry a man from a different religion. I also dont get involved physically before marriage which put an extra pressure on our relationship. He was very respectful about it, but it would frustrate him sometimes and I could tell. Now, he wants to reconnect, so do I. I love him very much but I dont know what to do if his family is against his choice in religion. He suggested a civil marriage without any religious ties, but thats not what I want. I want my family on board as much as I want his family too. Can I get some suggestions on how to deal with this situation without getting either of us hurt? Should we just let go ? #MCAR
