Indian troops martyr 3 Kashmiri youth in Kupwara Protest in Shopian against killing of civilians Srinagar, October 04: In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism have martyred three more Kashmiri youth in Kupwara district. The troops killed the youth during a violent military operation that continued for the 12th day, today, in Gujjar-tur-Shala Batu in Keran area of the district. The death toll in the area has reached to 18 during the last two weeks. A protest strike paralysed normal life in Shopian town, today, against the killing of five youth by Indian paramilitary forces in September. The protesters demanded immediate action against the CRPF personnel involved in the killings. Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the road. APHC leaders, Zafar Akbar Butt, Javed Ahmad Mir, Hakeem Abdul Rashid, Syed Basheer Ahmad Andrabi, Abdur Rasheed Untoo, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Human Rights defender, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo addressing public gatherings in Kupwara, Baramulla and Shopian areas said that India had waged a war against the civilians in the occupied territory. They denounced arrest and harassment of youth by Indian army and police in the territory. Indian police arrested several leaders and activists of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League including Chief Organizer, Muhammad Altaf Khan, and General Secretary, Ghulam Ahmad Parray during its raid on an anti-India protest at Press Colony in Srinagar, today. The JKPFL Chairman, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement condemning the police action demanded immediate release of the party leaders. The Indian police stopped Hurriyet leader, Firdous Ahmad Shah along with associates from proceeding towards Shopian. A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League led by its General Secretary, Abdul Ahad Parra, visited Pattan and Hajin areas and expressed solidarity with the families of two youth, Aqib Rasheed Sofi and Bilal Ahmad Butt. The youth were recently killed by Indian troops in custody.
