Indie Furball Hanschen peacefully passed away in his sleep Thursday afternoon. Indie was a rare breed of cat. Born into poverty on the streets of Kunming in 2003, Indie aspired to greatness. His travels took him from Kunming, to Beijing, Los Angeles, San Diego, Wimberley, and finally Dallas, where he made his home in Highland Park. Retiring at the age of 2, he spent his days sun bathing and managing his loyal custodian, David Hanschen. Indie and David developed a strong bond over the past 9 years, with Indie often philosophizing and sharing his deepest thoughts and feelings with David. Born in to poverty, Indie climbed the ladder of success and died in the top 1%. His talkative nature, coupled with his insightful ideas and quick wit, made him a pillar of the community. While he will be greatly missed, we will continue celebrate his life. Rest in peace, Indie Bendie.
