Information Bulletin being issued at this time..... THE PASSAGE OF AN ACTIVE TROPICAL WAVE Hind leg activity associated with the passage of an active Tropical Wave coupled with favourable upper level enhancement are currently affecting weather conditions over both Trinidad and Tobago, producing cloudy to overcast skies with showers and thundershowers. Overnight, the activity began over the eastern Caribbean Islands, higher up the chain of islands, but this has spread further south, affecting Tobago and now Trinidad. As a result of this enhanced activity, showers and thundershowers is forecast to continue for at least the next 3 - 5 hours. Rainfall accumulations of between 20 - 40 millimeters can be expected from this rainfall event. Gusty winds in heavy showers and thundershowers are likely. There is the possibility of landslides/landslips along hilly areas both in Tobago and Trinidad and episodes of moderate to severe street/flash flooding in the vicinity of heavy downpours. Rivers of moderate carrying capacities may become overwhelmed. Citizens are therefore advised to be vigilant and cautions as they conduct their daily activities given the forecast conditions. WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS TIME TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING. The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is closely monitoring weather conditions and will issue another bulletin if the situation warrants.
