Inquiries are continuing after a pedestrian was hit by a taxi in Surry Hills this morning (Sunday 22 June 2014). About 12.30am a taxi was approaching the intersection of Elizabeth and Albion streets when a 26-year-old man ran onto the roadway. The taxi driver was unable to avoid the man. The 26-year-old man was assessed on site by ambulance paramedics. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for further treatment to a suspected broken leg and head injuries. The taxi driver stopped after the collision and spoke briefly with police at the scene.
