Insurance premiums on the Obamacare marketplace for a family of - TopicsExpress

Insurance premiums on the Obamacare marketplace for a family of two making $40,000 a year are anywhere from $400-$800 a month without the tax credit. (The credit is around $350 if you choose to take it. If you dont choose to take it, you get an average $4500 credit on your income tax return.) If you are single and have no job, your monthly premiums are up to $500. (Tax credit ineligible.) If you are a couple and you make $20,000 a year (one doesnt work) monthly payments are averaging $400-$700 a month and you are not eligible for the tax credit. I dont know where you live, but if I purchase private insurance for myself and my husband, it would only be around $200 a month. I am almost convinced, with these prices and the fact that the IRS monitors the program and people could end up owing taxes for not purchasing insurance, that Obamacare costs have little to do with actual healthcare.
