Interesting watching Microsoft waffle around a bit after all that - TopicsExpress

Interesting watching Microsoft waffle around a bit after all that Apple announced. Waving their Surface around as if its that hot of a seller. This piece of tech is cute, but its foundation is still Microsoft Windows. Back when Steve was alive and going back to Apple he said things that shocked people when he said The battle of Apple vs. Microsoft is over. Perhaps Microsoft should say the same thing and work with Apple to innovate more broadly for the entire computer industry. Of course Apple did some interesting things with its announcements, but they were not all directed at Microsoft. They were directed at Google as well. Its a shame to see Redmond react as it did, and yes there was a Windows box shown and a pricetag on it, but also remember that google has its suite of apps that it promotes as being the best and yet it ties the hands of users left and right when its gigantic server farms go offline (GMAIL has crashed more drastically then iCloud has since its inception). Am thinking outloud but Microsoft could do worse than to turn to Apple who has done a better job with several items since coming back from the dead: iPOD over ZUNE iPHONE over Windows Phone iPAD over Surface That would be one of the smartest things. Well that and a reorg that flushes out some of the old guard and brings in some new vision around creating viable solutions and not just spinning webs of fantasy products. Its nice to have tech demos for cute things like the living room surfaces and the large wall monitors and other things, but to allow the greater population to have them and have them not all showing up with a blue screen...might make people more excited about your company. Anyway, my focus is Apple and what its doing out in the space, but the space does have room for both. Bill helped Steve bring Apple back. Perhaps Tim can help Bill achieve something similar with Microsoft...
