Interview with the Lord Mayor Banjul His Worship Abdoulie Bah The mayor of Banjul expressed his sincere gratitude and exuberance on the 385 bags of sugar given to him by the president of the republic of the Gambia HE Yahya Jammeh in other to distribute it to the Muslim ummah in Banjul as a Ramadan gift. In an interview with the Mayor at his office on Saturday 5th July 2014, he says that this is a kind gesture and benevolence from the president which he normally do every year. He said he is taking this opportunity to pray for the president and his entire government for success and progress. Further more says 21 Bags will be given to each councilor in Banjul to share among their people in their respective wards, and furthermore urges people not to venture into selling this sugar as it is a gift from the president of the republic. He also says that sugar will be distributed to religious leaders, youth groups ya com pins, mosques, churches among others. He assure that at-least every one within Banjul by the grace of GOD will have sugar if distributed properly He urges Muslims to change their attitudes on each other, at least we should have mercy and focus on development. He also lamented on the upcoming event which is the 20th anniversary celebration of the July 22nd and further urges all Banjul to take this event into consideration. to be continued......
