Islam & Religion The Arabic word for religion is Diyanah (pl. Diyanat). It denotes creeds and rituals, symbols and taboos, priesthood and church. “Religion is a social institution only ostensibly related to spirituality that, like all social institutions has as its first real (not apparent) objective the perpetuation of its own existence by amassing power and money and by squelching its competition.” - James David Audlin Religion is a psychic prison. Religion is a social evil. Religion is a commodity which the priesthood sells to make money for self-aggrandizement. Religion divides mankind. Islam is not a religion. Islam is the social system (deen) of Allah (Quran 3:19 & 85, 5:3) leading to love, righteousness, social justice, unity of mankind, equality in this world and salvation and Paradise in the life Hereafter. If no fair dealings and social justice, no Islam. Peace is the essence of Islam. Islam unites mankind.
