It can take eternal perspective to find Gods blessings in our present circumstances. ~God Is In the Small Stuff At Christmas The angel told Mary that she was blessed and highly favored by God. Yet, from the time she was visited by Gabriel, Mary probably encountered more pain than pleasure. At the outset, there was the scandal of her out-of-wedlock pregnancy. Then, the difficult circumstances of using a stable as a delivery room. Then, with the threats of King Herod, she and Joseph became fugitives, escaping to Egypt. And finally, being an eyewitness to her sons crucifixion. The story of Mary suggests that His favor may involve us experiencing some difficult circumstances in order to accomplish His plans. Dont be discouraged today if life hasnt seemed to go the way you expected or planned. Get some eternal perspective--in the midst of your present circumstance God is present, active and in control!
