It does appear as though the special operations squad that was sent to take Raila’s personal effects including hard drives and so on had instructions to eliminate him. This squad is similar to the one that raided the Nation Media and Standard Group offices recently. This points to the possibility of mercenary presence in the country. They were armed with silencer and loaded machine guns. They wore masks, and had trained in a model Raila office under the tutelage of a Russian special operations Sergeant for a few days at a location in the outskirts of Nairobi. They knew how to enter in a formation, and maneuver inside the office. They updated a senior bureaucrat in real time. The timing coincides with the president’s abroad travel hence the, “I wasn’t even in the country”!. But the buck ultimately stops with Uhuru- he is the one who ran for office and he takes responsibility for Raila’s security. Mutula was murdered under his watch, and like Pio Gama Pinto was the first murder in Kenyatta I regime, Mutula is the first assassination under Kenyatta II regime. Spying activity had recently intensified outside the Raila Odinga Center, but the fountain of humility has gotten used to being spied on, since his days as a child, and he didn’t take this seriously. Raila is rumoured to have been in the offices just a few minutes earlier, and they hoped to find him there, and when they didn’t, they sought orders from their higher-up superiors who ordered them to secure treasure trove intelligence information on his recent tour to the United States, in which he brushed shoulders with the Washington’s who’s who. So as you can see, jealousy was behind all these non-sense. And of course, regime led by folks with low self-esteem and confidence. Wealth and power will never remedy self esteem, it appears. If you don’t have it, you don’t have it. Raila’s state reception in the US and Cote d’vore appears to have sent shockwaves within the most powerful places within the Kenyan political scene. This comes hot on the heels of Obama’s personal request to Raila that he leads a Kenyan delegation of progressive voices that is expected to meet him in Tanzania. The powerful outfit of insiders believe that dead people can’t meet Obama that is why the pursuit to eliminate him was attempted. ICC inductees were not desired in power in March by all moral and democratic powerful nations because it’s obvious that they tend to feel more insecure, and the crackdown on the Official Opposition leader is testament to this. Like in Syria, Sudan, and not so long ago in Libya, wanted presidents tend to be insecure, and naturally they tend to more violent towards the opposition leaders and their own people. Kenya is now more like Uganda where Opposition leader, Kizza Besigye has to constantly watch his back for running against Museveni in the few previous elections. The Daily monitor, a Nation Media Group subsidiary was recently frisked and shut down by the Ugandan government- a key ally of Jubilee Government. This is the culmination of a regime that is increasingly getting desperate and frustrated by Raila’s growing popularity, locally and internationally. Simultaneous attacks are a hallmark of fear mongering regimes and terrorist groups. Al-Shabaab, Al- Qaeda, Mujahideen, all marvels at Simultaneous attacks. Nation and Standard media group raids were also simultaneous. It is meant to send shivers across the public about the reach and co-ordination of power by any evil force in question. This attack happened simultaneously with that of the goverment Chemist where the powerful few are desperate to cover up the first “Pio Gama Pinto” murder- Mutula Kilonzo is the first assassination. In other words if Raila can be silenced, Kenyans can be silenced, and the Opposition can be silenced. And with Uhuru’s new friends in Russia and China- nations that don’t tolerate dissent, such operations have access to technical advice and expertise on how to silence the opposition thanks to Kenya’s new friends. The NSIS has a brief to provoke the Raila supporters into violence, so that they can brand them as violent, and they are disappointed it isn’t happening. That is why their small fights with Raila continue to grow in severity each day, maybe eliminating him might send his supporters to the streets they hope. But isn’t that so dangerous for Kenya? This government is in itself a threat to National Security. They are headed to the gallows, and they want to go down with Kenya. Mutahi Ngunyi gave them a script on how to deal with Raila, whose excerpt he posted on his Twitter handle. And that is unraveling right before our eyes.
