It gets better, but it was a painful getting here. That is what we need to be telling youth today. I have struggled since I heard this story and to come to terms with a 12 year old boy in Folsom, CA who killed himself because he was teased for being feminine and a cheerleader. I know all too well the emotional impact something like this has on a kid. Trust me when I say, we dont need people belittling us for being feminine, we do it to ourselves in private. There was never a moment I didnt wish I acted differently. Stories like this bring flashbacks to my own childhood of hearing Faggot, Queer, and Sissy as I walked the hallways. It was not uncommon to be pushed, hit, or made fun of because I was feminine. Every kid gets some type of bullying in high school, it just sucks. You could be too skinny, too fat, too dark, too white, or too gay. The fact is youre going to get teased for something, but to get teased so bad and the school do NOTHING about it. Recently a friend from High School posted a question on Facebook about his kids classmate going to be dressing differently in school, and his parents sent home a letter asking parents to please talk to their kids and to be kind their son. I wish Ronin Shimizu that I could have told you that even though you are being teased now, that those bullies will mean nothing to you years later. That in-fact, they come to you and ask forgiveness for the things they called you. That God does love you, and created you in likeness of Him, and you are PERFECT. Thank you Ronin for allowing your life serve as a voice to the human race to be better. abc13/society/12-year-old-boy-kills-himself-after-being-bullied-for-being-a-cheerleader/424020/
