It has been 10 days since Rascals surgery for insulinoma. The vet removed a 3/8 inch in diameter cancerous growth from his pancreas. This required removing about 1/4 lobe from his pancreas. The vet did not find any other cancerous nodules, so he is hopeful that Rascal is cured. Rascal is on carafate to settle his stomach and amoxi for preventative while he is recovering from his surgery. He is on 0 meds for insulinoma right now. He is getting playful despite all this! This indicates that he is much healthier than before the surgery already. He goes in to get his stitches removed and another glucose check on Monday. His stitches are healing up rather nicely by the looks of it. He has been very good about not trying to mess with them. We will know the results of his surgery better then. We are hopeful that his blood sugar will be right where it needs to be! PS. Rascal still loves his soupies. He rarely eats the freeze died raw since we have soup available to him 24/7 right now.
