It has been a privilege to know Donald Goodman, and his wife Margo, to whom goes a great hug in this time of sadness. Don and Margo hosted me and my friend Vittorio del Duca when we were young students at Stony Brook University, and meeting them made it so much easier for us to adapt to the new environment and culture. Don had a great heart, an amazingly sharp brain, a vast treasure of knowledge and an open mind. I will sorely miss him.
