It has just been brought to my attention that there is an article about me in the Croydon Advertiser re the photo Exhibition of my photos at the Eve Gallery Edenbridge. I have just read it and am surprised to see that it is written that I was approached by the Noades family to take photos of Ron Noades funeral. I have no idea where that came from as when I was interviewed, there wasnt even a mention of Ron Noades, nor of the photos at his funeral. For the record, I did take just one photograph during the ceremony because the moment was so poignant which involved Mark Bright Ian Wright and Novello. I took the photo in a split second without using flash and discussed with all three in the photo that if they were uncomfortable with the image, I would happily delete it. I was later contacted by various newspapers who asked if I had any photographs taken at the funeral, and consulted all three in the photographs who said it was ok to use the photo. It was picked up by the BBC and also used on line. I did not get paid and I did not go around attempting to sell the photo and at no time did I even imply that the Noades family asked me to do the photos. I am writing to say that I have no idea how this information came to be in print in the Croydon Advertiser. It is true to say that I have been documenting in photographs the lives of the Noades family for 34 years, but at no time did they ask me to do the photography at Rons funeral, nor would I have said they did. The rest of the article is correct in out conversations between the reporter and myself.
