It is Christmas. For most of us this should be a great time spent with nice people and enjoying some down time from work. At NWF we dont recommend stressing about food choices or worrying too much what happens at this time. Generally - if you train well and appropriately throughout the year, a few days here or there will not impact you negatively at all. If someone is very focused on transforming themselves over time - we like people to pick multiple days throughout the year that are important for them to be with friends and family and for them to fit in with those around them and enjoy food and drink that they would normally avoid. About 1 day every 4 weeks is a very rough guide. You might pick several days over the Xmas holiday, your birthdays and those of really important people. You might pick graduation days, anniversaries or other relevant celebrations. Whichever they are - you can eat and drink freely and enjoy knowing that the rest of the time your healthier lifestyle and good training will keep you looking and feeling the way you want to. Your friends and family will probably have a better time too - making yourself feel guilty or others around you doesnt help anyone. We might caution against eating foods that you know dont agree with you - so that you dont physically ill or have pain and discomfort. Thats why Suz cooked me a gluten free Xmas pudding which I will enjoy heartily with clotted cream. Charles has a more entertaining write up of this same concept - in fact it was probably from him that I first decided this was a good way to live .. so if you want to hear it from the man himself, look here: strengthsensei/dealing-with-holiday-food-treats-and-guilt/ Happy holidays everyone.
