It is a rare event when one sees a confluence of events in politics that can form a perfect storm of political opportunity. It takes some really unprincipled people to miss or screw up that opportunity. Im writing this to those who claim we need to give the GOP time to make right the damage Dear Leader caused on his watch, particularly the abomination that is ObamaCare and the potentially even more damaging unconstitutional executive amnesty that finds no legitimate authorization within the framework of our republican form of government. You know who you are. The GOP took the senate and increased its presence in the House of Representatives to a almost record level in the last election, all based on the unpopularity of both the current president and the policies of his political party. In the past, the GOP was (unfairly) blamed for shutting down the government by the Dems and their lackeys in the media, this for twice refusing to fund yet another in a series of continuing resolutions for the purpose of reining in out-of-control spending. This offense is hardly something to be pilloried for. In fact it can easily be seen as a courageous act worthy of praise, but pilloried the Republicans were. This is exactly what happens in most cases when men of principle stand up and fight for what is right, but it seemingly happens to Republicans more often than their opposition, particularly when Republicans live up to their prerogatives and their responsibilities under the Constitution. This time, things SHOULD have been different. ObamaCare is despised by a clear majority of the citizenry of this country; something on the order of 55% dont like it, even if they do favor more government involvement in our healthcare. We can argue that point, but what we cant argue is the fact that there are more than enough people to back any one individual or party if they choose to challenge the Imperial Presidency of our esteemed Dear Leader. The GOP, particularly the leadership, missed the message. An even more clear example of the go along to get along mentality that afflicts the GOP (to our great detriment) is Obamas executive amnesty, opposed by a solid 72% or more of the voters in every poll Ive seen. There can be no concern about shutting down a government that is abusing the very people it is supposed to serve, and this issue, in concert with Obamacare, forms the perfect storm the Republicans are now ignoring. Who among the 55% (or among the 72%) would complain, media spin or no, about shutting down a lawless bully who is now ramming his personal agenda down our collective throats? Apparently only those who dont really give a damn about what the people want, let alone what the people NEED. There can be no more excuses for professional politicians who refuse to honor their commitments to the Constitution and those (We, the People) with whom ultimate authority is supposed to reside (within the constructs given in our founding documents). Its obvious that our next job is to purge the GOP of the subversives in charge, and/or come up with a new group of Patriots with and through whom we may re-take our Liberty from those who have stolen it.
