It is almost 10 years ago now that the Drs, Told me , After my 1st heart attack, that they thought they might be able to keep me alive for another 5 to 6 months -- to go Home & get my affairs in order ! ---- I did --- I changed line on my fishing reels - sighted in my rifles!! -------- Now --- 12 more heart attacks later ---- do I feel GREAT??? ----- No I do not ---- But ----------- I got up this morning thinking of little things I can do to make me stronger! ------- One of them is certainly NOT a Handicapped Placard ( which I could get with no problem) -----It amuses & in a way angers me to watch people who are physically better off -- use their handicaps to defraud the rest of us ! -------- I generally pick the parking spot farthest from the store in the parking lot --- for the extra exercise --- By adding several miles of walking in my day -- I feel like I am getting stronger & more able to survive ----- These people are hurting themselves & their worst handicap is in their own heads ----------- I got my medicine taken this morning --- It regulates my heart beat --- but -- medicine doesnt give you strength ------------ They told me I would NEVER sleep in my own bed again because it was up a flight of stairs ----- I got home & that night (while Sami was busy making me a downstairs bed )---- I crawled up the stairs & went to bed ! ------ Today ----- I will cut - split - haul & stack in the house a hearth load of firewood ( to avoid using any of the Winters supple I have in the sheds) - The Freezer & pantry are full of Fish -- Small Game -- Garden Vegetables ----- Awaiting a big Venison!! ------Gee its great to not be a burden on my family & still be of use! -----The day there is one of those Placards in the Green Weenie -- Would be the day that I gave up! --- Triple Heeee!
