It is rather unfortunate that some sections of Sierra Leoneans are hailing Sylvia Blyden for her inflammatory remarks against the Konos, instead of condemning her unanimously. Her reckless statement that Konos are targeting her as an enemy transcend political boundaries, with serious implications for all and therefore must be a concern for all of us. As Sierra Leoneans we are proud of our rich cultural and tribal heritage but not at the expense of another tribe. Our diversity should be used to create a cosmopolitan society free from tribal sentiment. The nation should condemn Sylvia outright before the situation get out of control. I will conclude with the famous statement made by Edmond Burke “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
