It is said that the life span of any insurgency in India and around the world is 10 to 15 years, after which they normally come into the mainstream or just subsides away by itself and the GOI we can say, is very much successful in dealing with insurgencies as we have witnessed that so many separatist groups flourished within our country mare particularly in the NE region and then most of them vanished off in a span of 10-15 years. Some organization survived for some 25 years and NSCN today, is one of the longest surviving insurgency that is still alive in the history of Indian insurgency. Having said this, it does not necessary mean the success and the glory of our NSCN. Despite the fact that our Naga insurgency is one of the oldest and the longest living organization in our country, it seems that the dreams and the aspirations of the Tangkhul Nagas are drifting away with the passage of time. Some of our nationalist might like to argue that the Shillong Accord of 1975 had made things tough. But as a matter of fact, if we read the Accord available in the archives it has nothing to do with the Naga Political Movement. Legally, it was just an agreement between few individual who did not officially represent the Nagas. The supplementary agreement of 1976 was also signed by the Governor of Nagaland, L P Singh, GOI and few Naga underground groups who had wished to surrender their arms having very little connection with our Naga Political Movement. At this moment, I do not want to go back to 1960s where the workable proposal submitted by our most honorable and most loyal nationalist, Shri Rungsung Suisa were rejected by our own fellowmen. However, today, as a Tangkhul Naga by birth and by heart, I would like to say openly that GOI had identified our weakness and our greatest weakness is that we are dreaming for something which is crystal clear seen as unattainable. Naga political movement is no longer secrecy. WE NEED TRANPARENCY. NSCN should produce a journal that will constantly update our people of each step taken and every talk held with the GOI. There are unaccounted Naga individuals who can contribute or may give feedback or any other suggestion to our NSCN, who will lead us in the fight. Muiva and Isaac must create a platform where they should be able to express to the people of Naga and at the same time must welcome any kind of criticism, feedback and suggestion from the public. It will be very wrong to assume that GOI would resolve the Naga Political interest independently as per the provision of the Article 1 and 2 of the constitution without the consent of the states of Manipur, Arunachal and Assam. We should not hide our movement from these three states. We must have open discussions not only with the Delhi Govt. but also with the respective state government which is very much a part of our Naga Political Movement. We need the participation of these three states in our movement. Our NSCN should lobby with the political leaders of these three states in coordination with our Naga Politicians. It is of extreme importance for us that NSCN have innermost understanding with our politicians because I strongly feel that our Naga Political Movement can be best fulfilled through non violence and political means. The strong resistance from the Meiteis may be also contained if we take the help of Assam and Arunachal, for our cause is a genuine one which will be sympathized by many. It is a matter of how our bureaucrats, politicians and other leaders approach and convince them.
