It is so surreal to drive throught the town I grew up in, born in Teaneck but lived every day of my life in Bergenfield. We graduated in 1993 and kept in touch with those we were close with at the end of high school. Never thinking something like Facebook would bring people close together from all around the country, around the world. It keeps me updated with my family and my friends. Then I quickly check my phone to see the devastating news, that my classmate from grammar school all the way into high school Melissa Miller passed away last night leaving her husband and 2 boys Austin and Lucas. I didnt see her at our 20 year high school reunion, but I have fond memories of walking with her, Kelly, Janine, and others from Washington school on our way home. I just drove down Summit Ave a few minutes ago the same route we all used to walk home, and cant believe it has been 30 years since Ive met Melissa. Life is so short, I love seeing her posts and pictures of Austin and getting updates about his surgeries and how he is growing up to be a stong little boy and that he has his beautiful little baby brother Lucas. I know his Aunt Pam will make sure they never forget and know every thing about their mom, about how she was a beautiful wonderful person who left this earth way to soon. Rest in Peace Melissa.
