It is time to takenthis BI Weekly Assignment to a whole other level. Its time to get some Blues in here so Im going to do, The Animals. Okay, they were formed in Newcastle in the early 60s. They moved to London when they hit it big in 1964. The band was known for a gritty, bluesy sound and for its deep-voiced frontman Eric Burdon. Their signature song and No.1 hit single was The House of the Rising Sun which was actually a traditional American folk song. Other hits include We Gotta Get out of This Place and Dont Let Me Be Misunderstood. The Animals were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. In 2003, the bands version of The House of the Rising Sun ranked No. 123 on Rolling Stone magazines 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list. Their 1965 hit single We Gotta Get out of This Place was ranked No. 233 on the same list.
