It is with great sadness that we must announce the loss of Scott Matthew Powell to his friends and fellow divers. Scott left us on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at the young age of 44. His sense of adventure, quick wit, companionship and energy will be sorely missed by us all. Please keep his family in your prayers and thoughts to help ease this terribly difficult time for them. Scott’s family will inform us about funerary information as soon as it becomes available and we will make every effort to get that information out to you in a timely manner. Please keep attuned to the Down Under Surf & Scuba social media sites as well for information. Scott’s wife Renee and I, among others, feel it will benefit our family of divers if we endeavor to keep the shop open and viable. If there is one thing we have learned over the last 20 years while scrambling to fill tanks and locate missing dive equipment it’s that we are in fact, a large family of divers – not just a business location. We may experience a few jolts and bumps as we keep this train rolling along and we humbly ask that you be patient with us and understand that we will have a few difficulties to work through. The shop may also experience intermittent closures over the next few weeks for short periods of time while adjustments are made to critical systems and processes.
