It should be noted that Elizabeth Lauten did apologize for her remarks. It should also be mentioned that she simply tossed out a blanket apology rather than to actually say she was sorry to Sasha & Malia Obama and to the President and First Lady. And I dont believe one word of her claim she spent many hours in prayer over this. She was shitting her pants about losing her job and damaging her career. If she was praying, it was about that. Her contrition over her actions is thin.
