It was an honor to serve as the Master of Ceremonies during the unveiling of the LAPD Harbor Community Police Station Fallen Officers Memorial Wall this week. Envisioned by Captain William Hayes and Lt. Robert Long, three years ago, the wall was brought to life through the combined talents of David Parsons, artist and owner of Summer Studios Arts Academy in Lomita, David Cruz, Eileen Webb and Kai Goodwyn. In addition to the lobby memorial, an In Memoriam memorial has also been installed by the officers equipment room to serve as a daily reminder of the officers who paid the ultimate price. The major benefactor of the memorials are the women of the Harbor L.I.T.E.S. and Mr. Jeff Neu. The ribbon was cut by Sonia Sanchez, wife of Officer Roberto Sanchez who lost his life in the line of duty May 3rd.
