It was our die hard love for the Beauty of Nature that took us to the picturesque valley of Kashmir despite the apprehensions of the near and dear ones on the safety scenario and the post floods situation in the valley. And we are so glad that we could cast aside all the fears and made this visit. Kashmir is truly blessed by Mother Nature and takes ones breath away in the very first tryst. We fell in instant love with the quaint charm of the houseboats and shikaras on the Dal Lake, the lush green meadows of Gulmarg, the grandeur of chinar trees that painted the entire canvass with their myriad autumn hues, virgin fresh snow at Sonmarg, mighty snow capped Himalayas and much more. Ofcouse, a cup of delicious kahwa and hospitality of the phiran clad locals always added to the warmth of the place. Luckily, our travel time also matched with the blooming of the mauve saffron crocuses (yielding longest strands of worlds best saffron) that bloom only for a fortnight in a year in the fields of Pampore. Overall, it was indeed a magical experience and the destination is much recommended for fellow travel enthusiasts looking out for natural beauty. :)
