It was roughly ten years ago when I got my first job in the bike - TopicsExpress

It was roughly ten years ago when I got my first job in the bike industry; at the shop level. I was right out of high school, and I had a mechanical background with automobiles and large machinery. It’s just a bike right, how hard could it be? It would be a severe understatement to only say that I’ve learned a lot since then. Though I admittedly haven’t always liked where I was working, I have always enjoyed what I was doing. All of which brings me here. My plans for the future, which those close to me know, and others may have gathered. It is commonly stated that timing is everything, and as such I have tried to be very tactical about what information I share, when, and with whom. Timing may be everything, but I have since realized that not everyone can be James Cagney... So to hell with it. I plan to open up my own bike shop. I am currently servicing bikes in a mobile capacity, but brick and mortar is definitely coming. I have a business partner, but he still works in the industry and at this time will remain anonymous. Obviously not a small undertaking, but I do have a bit of an ace up my sleeve. We recently invested in the inventory and contents of a bike shop that closed. We got lucky; timing is everything. What this means is that we have product, and retail utilities already at our disposal. I am now looking to sell off the product, cheap, which includes complete new bicycles, components, clothing, and accessories. We don’t have everything, but we do have more than some established shops. I am trying to contain this post and keep it from becoming a bloated classified ad, so I have simply attached pictures of some of the inventory. I will supply more detailed information about what we have later, but I am more than willing to answer any questions you may have. I would like to thank everyone who has offered me advice, offered help, and those offering encouragement. As I have mentioned, I am also servicing bikes, and I possess all of the tools and most service parts and can offer almost immediate turnaround. Anything from basic adjustments to suspension overhauls and wheel builds. I also do events. If you have any questions, you may contact me here, by phone, or through my email. Thanks again everyone! 714-350-5889 [email protected]
