Its 2.30 Monday afternoon I dont know whether I know anymore than I did yesterday but had Christopher Haywood and Professor Anne Keogh plus Nick Kerr all from my heart transplant team through mid morning. The main thing on their agenda is this staph bug(yes finally have a bloody confirmation what type of bug it is) and making sure yhey kill it I have now gone each night since ive been here with temps spiking up around 40.8 and what goes with that is no sleep with me finally getting to sleep at 4am purely due to exhaustion. Nick and the team also reaffirmed how well conditioned I looked since I left St Vincents in May and that put a smile on the dial and I do remind them that they shipped off someone who couldnt stand let alone walk to Tamworth Base and Rachel the head of physio there is responsible for me being where I am using walker and just weeks away from a walking stick then zippo nothing just my own two pegs. The plastic surgical team is next on the books and they will make their call on surgey on my heels in conjunction with the heart team im not sure on timing but cant be far away. I had a visit from an old friend motoring/motorsport jounalist Peter McKay around lunch time and it was a real pleasure to chat with Pete given his and my extensive music knowledge and obviously his motoring and motor sport knowledge as I said to him I think my need for speed started around 6 yrs old. Peter has a new column with Wheels Magazine called Monday Motorsport Wrap just go to Wheelsmag.au well worth a weekly read on whats happening in motor sport. Peter was telling me he went to the recent Queen concert and said he was blown away by the new guy Adam Lambert there were 5-6 costume changes and a special appearance by Lady Gaga who belted out a tune or two and seemed to go down well with the crowd. Anyway Petes off to Europe mid week testing for Wheels mag so it was great to see him given his schedule.
