Its a bit late..but if Halloween had a shark I think this would be it!! Meet the Goblin Shark... This animal is poorly understood as it lives in the deep sea but can grow up to 3-4 meters (so the shark in this clip is just a juvenile). What your seeing here is an anatomical feature of sharks taken to the extreme. Sharks jaws arent fixed to their skull, rather hang loosely supported by muscle and ligaments which allows them to have a wider gape when chomping down on prey. The Goblin shark has developed this to the next level which allows it to rapidly engulf fish and snare them in those needle like teeth designed to hold onto slippery fish...amazing evolution A face only a mother could love? We think hes beautiful!! what do you think??
