Its about that time again... BOOYAH,BABY its 2013! We have jumped right into living the infomercial way and look at everything including each other as commodities.. AND WAIT for only the cost of your soul you can turn your back on your bestie and get not ONE but TWO fake friends that will steal your money, clothes and your hoe... It seems like a DUH moment but yep relationships have officially become part of our disposable culture- Like diapers, we toss marriages, friendships, jobs, boyfriends, girlfriends out. Poof, wad ‘em up, toss ‘em, they are…GONE. It would be great if people were to think of the emotional and spiritual repercussions of disposable relationships and shallow commitments. Maybe reaching in our consciousness might motivate everyone to start developing deeper and more meaningful relationships instead of simply moving on. Something Ive heard way to often is that sometimes its just easier not to care. Yikes! Simply put- if everyone wanted to move on after the fun and games, who would be around for each other in moments of agony and pain? When does the grass stop getting greener? I have struggled with being tossed away from the same people that assured me had the same disgust for phonys, liars and social climbers. As a result of my disdain for the cool kids and the dehumanization of ones self, I now spend less time with fakies who live for social fame and now try to build relationships that are based on mutual appreciation, respect, honesty and the old fashioned notion of simply having fun. Heres a challenge- Stop treating people and relationships as disposable goods. Stop using people to meet our own selfish needs rather than appreciating them as for who they are. Somethings are worth the blood, sweat and tears are you?
