Its absolutely a good news that different bodies are addressing the state of Nepalese worker in Qatar. I just heard from KPCC FM that The Guardian is raising the issue of Nepalese workers death in Qatar. They have been treated as slaves with several months of unpaid work to build this lavish Stadium hosting 2022 World Cup. This is what guardians read "Reports suggest that workers have been denied access to free drinking water in extreme heat, have been unpaid for months and have had their passports confiscated to prevent them from leaving the country. It is even reported that systematic forced labour has been adopted. "As a consequence, there are reports of many workplace fatalities including the death of 32 Nepalese workers in July alone." Its sad to hear that those poor workers who spend their fortune to get to this place to materialize a good future; find their life crushed under the feet of a bunch of thugs. We should appreciate the effort of various Nepalese group who raised this matter to various bodies to finally give it a major agenda to be learnt by concerning authorities. I am elated to hear that FIFA is meeting next week in Zurich and this is going to be a major agenda of discussion. Lets hope for a good outcome soon.
