Its absolutely unbelievable that this could happen today. Pasteurisation and other food safety regulations are in place for this specific reason! It makes me so mad to think that fear mongering perpetuated by celebrities and (in this case) raw food activists can lead to illness and death with no consequences, and that this product can continue to be sold as a beauty treatment. If registered health and fitness professionals- with actual qualifications in their industries- gave unsafe advice to the public like this, we could and would rightfully be sued, as well as having our rights to practice revoked. If you look to the actual educated professionals in a given field, you know that they have a legal responsibility to improve, not harm your health. Celebrities and those without qualifications have absolutely no responsibility. Its all about using controversy to drive media attention and boost book sales.
