Its been a really cold week, so sitting here, wrapped in my big warm burly man robe with my hot coffee feels good. No where to go this early morning. Snowed a little and makes it look colder outside. I have a couple on my mind that I saw on the news this week. I dont have details but the jest of it is they were an elderly couple who were married for many years. The wife was suffering from severe debilitating dementia. The husband was her caretaker. A husband and wife who probably spent many years of family, love, fun, spending every moment they could together. I imagine a kiss good by every morning and a big hug at the end of the day every time one would leave or come home. A lifetime together ending in retirement and more time to spend, no job or demands. But things sometimes go a stray. She became sick for years and dementia took her memories and abilities. You here every so often of a spouse taking the life of a loved one to stop the pain of the person they love so dearly and usually take their own life, as in this case, because they dont want to be here without them. I see how their pain could affect their judgement, whether you agree with it or not. Maybe they didnt want their love to spend the rest of their life in a nursing home, or wanted to spend eternity together. Personally I dont agree but I cant judge them either way. Everyones situation in life is different. Yes, it is immoral and illegal. But only God can truly judge them and the love they shared. Sorry if this isnt an up beat thought but maybe it really is. They were on my mind. Happy Saturday...
