JAN 12 DAY NINE: I WILL EXAMINE EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE AND BE WILLING TO ELIMINATE ANYTHING THAT OFFENDS JESUS CHRIST. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:21) There were some in that Jesus declared had done many wonderful works, but that he never knew them (Matthew 7:21-23). All good things are not ‘God things’. Some things we do are offensive to God. They have no value in the kingdom. The Apostle Paul taught that all our works will be tried by fire, and only what survives the fire will last (1 Corinthians 3:11-15). Yesterday you should have examined your motives. Once your true motives are exposed, eliminate anything that does not please the Lord. Pray: Lord, I count all things as loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. I am willing to suffer the loss of all things in order to please you (Philippians 3:8). Lord, if I possess anything that displeases you, I give it up now (Acts 19:19). Lord, if I am doing anything that displeases you, I stop it now (Isaiah 5:20; 1 Corinthians 2:5). Lord, I will seek to praise and glory you in all that I do (Psalms 86:12).
