Its both saddening and frustrating that a few of the folks I have fought beside for so long have chosen to try and discredit me over my support for Common Core. It would be a welcomed conversation to debate the issue on the facts and merits, instead of personal attacks. It is a fact that I get paid to advocate for education reforms. There is not enough money on the planet for me to advocate for something I dont believe in, my integrity is not for sale. My client has never asked me to do or say anything that I was not fully supportive. It is my personal belief in order to empower parents, employee robust school choice and hopefully someday implement a school voucher we must be able to compare all our schools in AR and around the country apples to apples, that is what the Common Core Standards provide. They also provide the ability for teachers and parents to more adequately assess where specific children are in each subject. I would encourage you if you are truly interested in education reform that matters to please get the facts and stop listening to the rhetoric and the placating politicians.
