Its not global warming. Its climate change. And the prof that is happening is all around you, everyday. Its in the extreme temps - warm & cold. Its in the icebergs melting into the ocean faster that even scientists predicted. Its on the hurricanes and tsunamis and blizzards. But more importantly, its not just about freak storms. Its about polluting our planet with toxins and carcinogens to the point that cancer is now an epidemic. Its about mutating our genes and them passing those mutated genes on to each successive generation. Its about seeing kids too damn young to have have their first kiss but old enough to be bloated and bald from chemotherapy, ravaged by radiation. So screw your hard right wing capitalism or die! rhetoric. I want a healthy planet. I want to not worry about losing another family member or friend to cancer. I want my auntie back. I want my uncle cured. I want every child to live a healthy, full life. I want clean air and earth and food. And if youre wiling to tow an ideological line to the point that you can just focus on the words global warming while ignoring science and the scourge of cancer, if youre willing to ignore the destruction of your own home so that millionaires can make more money by destroying the earth, youve already sold a huge piece of your humanity. And if thats the case, there is NOTHING I can do to help you. But perhaps take a trip to the arctic, then a walk through a paediatric oncology Ward. Maybe THAT will help you separate political ideology from being a human being on plea t earth. Rage vent over.
