Its really heartbreaking to me that Leelah couldnt hang on just a bit longer and that she felt she could never successfully transition. At 17, it wouldnt have been easy, but once she turned 18, she could have escaped from the clutches of her parents and began to live as she saw herself. Sadly, shell never have the chance to find out.
