Its simple. when you hear of parents whose young daughters were kidnapped and held by murderers you tell them sorry. if you were/are in a position to have done more to act and for whatever reason didnt, you say sorry. If you are in a position to do more and are doing more then you say it to their faces... Its common decency and empathy. I watched tv and the Borno Govs wife was in Chibok recently and did those things.... she said sorry, she admitted she had failed them, she shared their pain in their own environment. Late. Yes very late. But...Its that simple no matter how late. It wont bring back the girls but its a darn sight better than implying parents are liars and collaborators in their own pain even as you refuse to visit them in their community. The same community were some crazy Nigerians claim nothing happened is too dangerous to visit? Nigerians are fairly simple people and believe or not in many matters easy to connect with. Its not too late. And kudos to the presidential committee for visiting Chibok... nice to know its not in outer space! #bringbackourgirls #bringbackourcountry
