Its strange that Councillor Nick Killian slates FG and Enda Kenny over the water charges, he calls for empathy from the government in a recent post on his FB page: If ever there was a time for Taoiseach Enda Kenny to shut his mouth, its now. His arrogance on TV, when he should be showing empathy with the people, shows how much this Government is out of touch not just with the Irish people but with reality itself. He fails to recognise that there are families who simply will not be able to afford to pay water rates, it will come down to a choice of putting a loaf of bread on the table or paying there water bill Yet on September 23rd, he himself voted against a reduction of 5% in the LPT and voted in favour of retaining the rate. Would this reduction not have helped people put a loaf of bread on the table?
