Its that time....(yes, Ive finally woke up from slumber!)....time for............... TALES.....FROM THE HIGHWAY!! Where to start.... So, just across the creek into South Carolina, we happen upon, yet again, more household goods strewn along the road. This time though, the mattress didnt fair so well. This thing had been churned up so good that, on both sides of the road, it looked like a mini snow drift!! Amazing...folks can see to text while driving but we cant see the mattress that flies off the back of our trucks...shaking my head (and giggling at the same time!) After the show on Friday night, we make our way to the usual Waffle House for an early morning/pre-beddy bye grub down! Because as you know, Waffle House can help you get your grub on! So, a couple of the band mates are sitting in booth, chowing down when, low and behold, they look on the edge of the booth and, they have visitors. Creepy, crawly, critters...ROACHES!! Well...they have to eat too, so dont get to grossed out! LOL As long as their not in the food, Im good. Although, that jalapeno in my scrambled eggs was suspect! Grossed out yet, anyone? (Disclaimer: I am not disparaging the reputation or cleanliness of Waffle House. Bugs are everywhere! They just happened to show up and dine with us Fri night/Sat morning!) Finally...the motel in Jacksonville, NC that we contract with has suites. 3 beds per room. Two beds are right inside the door and the third is located in the back of the suite, kinda like its own room. I took the back room. Of course, all the snoring machines are in my/our room. The Head Snorer is so good, he peels the paint off the sheet rock because he snores so loud. And, he talks in his sleep. As the sounds of snoring are echoing throughout the room, I heard what sounds like...the pajamas are in the tree! Now thats some sort of dream there!! I wanted to go running to the front room, in my underwear and, in by best Liam Neeson voice yell...Get to the tree quickly! Save the pajamas! Theres no time! I decided against because his pacemaker wouldve flown out of his chest! LOL Anyway, the boys played flawlessly, even with Jeremy feeling sick. He bucked up like the stuff muffin he is, hacked up his lungs and kept plugging along! And, whats up with this weather? It was 70 degrees when we loaded out this morning at 2:30 am. Its January! Should be cold, ice and snow! In NC anyway! Road life....never a dull moment!
