Its the weekend, and I should be HAPPY. Another HISD school incompetence alert. Its middle of the summer holidays and I drive through 3 school zones on my way to work. Yes, you guessed it, the 20 mph flashers at all three schools are still on. It would seem HISD management could assign an employee to visit the various school zones and turn off the yellow flasher lights when school is out, but that would require too much responsibility. My point being there is no one where the buck stops here!. I have called 811 twice. I love our kids, but I dislike government incompetency at any level. Some manager is getting paid a nice living not to follow through with his employee to do list. On another note, lets talk about HCAD (Harris County Appraisal District) I received my office contents appraisal. The contents appraisal went up 300%. I even itemize for the appraiser and have done so for 16 years. How the identical furniture and computers can increase 300% in one year is a miracle. Ill fight it and win. Ill set an appointment and discuss with a low level employee the math, and they will say contents taxes need to go up because the economy is better. But they have no mathematical sense. Something needs to be done in Austin legislature to get these goof balls to use mathematics and not just throw out random numbers. Local Government needs to be productive, not destructive.
