Its very disheartening to read about more cuts to the programming at CBC. I get the direction the Harper government is moving in when he calls for deeper financial cuts to the corporation. I believe CBC provides more Canadian content to viewers than the private media. I know many Canadians are ambivalent about CBC, but what it costs to provide 24/7 programming is relatively inexpensive when costed out nationally. I dont think $34 per person a year is not too outrageous a sum. It would work out to about 20 large Timmies coffees. There is much ordinary citizens can do. Researching the contributions CBC provides for what it costs is a great place to start.i think asking questions thru CBC.ca might help. Asking your MP for the reasons behind the budget cut when they could have balanced the budget this year instead of waiting to trot it out in the election next year. There is a lot the federal govt is hiding from Canadians. I truly believe this is all politically motivated and not merely a financial one.
