It’s 2am, ER finally quiet. I turn on the TV and there is a paid commercial advertising “New Revolutionary Anti-aging Anti-Wrinkle Serum”. An actress states a French Scientist discovered it and now the long held secret is out! A small bottle the size of your thumb costs $300 and it can be applied to face, neck and arms. The first thought I got was… Well, can it be applied on your ass crack? Cuz no one wants to look like a young vibrant 20 year old and have a 90-year-old ass crack! Plus, you might need to spend another $300 depending on the size of your crack. Or maybe, one can save some money, by applying to just one cheek and let the other cheek receive some TLC action vis-à-vis friction. If you cant apply it there, atleast have a warning on the bottle for petes sake… WARNING: “Do not apply on your ass crack, might cause BURNING DISCOMFORT, RASH and HIGH PITCHED VOICE in MEN” Just Sayin… :-p --------------------------- I’m kidding off course but beauty madness is a real mental illness in this pathological youth-centric society which is perpetuated by the mass media and the pop culture. One only needs to turn on the TV, glance at the local grocery stores magazine rack or check your Facebook feed for over edited photos to understand the extent of beauty madness our society is currently delved in. Im guilty of this instagram, lightroom photo editing mania as well. Its refreshing and a breath of fresh air to see someone post a normal raw unedited photo of themselves. Most of us have something we dont like about our appearance. But people who have body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) think about their real or perceived flaws for hours each day! Here is a link for Self-Test: bit.ly/1rk2ne6 Now that I have a baby daughter, I sometimes wonder if she will succumb to societal pressures on appearance as I did when I was a kid. Here are some ways that parents can help impact on a daughters developing self-esteem cuz it is within the family that a girl first develops a sense of who she is and who she wants to become. (Copied from various websites) 1. Dont praise girls solely for their appearance. Praise should be focused on effort and accomplishments. 2. Watch how you talk about other people: Are you judgmental of peoples appearances? Make sure youre sending a message to your children that its whats inside—especially how we treat others—that defines a person and makes us who we are. 3. Watch television, movies, and other media with your daughters and sons. Discuss how girls are portrayed. And finally its important to know... God loves in you even that which you dislike. God doesnt partition you into pieces and loves some and not loves others. Thats what people do. Thats what you do. God, who created you, accepts and loves every little part of you, even those you deny and hate in yourself. So next time you try to dislike a part of you, just pause, look and remember that God loves it. :-) Have a blessed day! #Asscrack ;-)
