It’s been a banner year—the history-making Bicentennial programs and special events at Fort McHenry commemorating the Battle of Baltimore, the valiant defense of the star-shaped Fort McHenry against the might of the British, and Francis Scott Key’s writing of “The Star-Spangled Banner” were absolutely extraordinary! Throughout the year, we continued to produce our “200 for the 200th” initiative which allowed thousands of students to experience Fort McHenry and learn about how history continues to impact their lives today.
