It’s been two decades since “Heaven and Earth” (1994) was in theaters, and am most pleased to be finally sharing this film with you for the first time on Blu-ray from Twilight Time beginning Tues., 12/9. The film has been re-mastered in 1080p HD and the disc will include special features such as deleted scenes with optional commentary, an alternate opening of the film, and Golden Globe- awarded music by the Japanese composer Kitaro. The film looks better than ever in HD (with minor scratch removal, etc.) and its a major improvement over the DVD. The photography by (Bob Richardson) and the settings are, in my opinion, other-worldly, arguably one of my most sensuous-looking films. Let us not forget Le Ly Hayslip’s brave journey, nor the struggles of the Vietnam people during the tumultuous and violent period that was the Vietnam War. Please be aware Twilight is a specialty house and this is a limited edition of 3,000 units. You can find more information and pre-order the film here: bit.ly/1w4yFzD
