It’s finally Spring! And, everywhere you turn; youre hearing about Detoxing, or Spring Cleansing. Why not commit to cleansing you home & YOUR LIFE. Think PURIFICATION. Spring is an ideal time to detox, energy levels are higher due to more daylight and we have more determination with that restored energy to reach our detox goals. Tips To Jumpstart Your Purification: • Cut back, or eliminate, meat: Meat can be highly acidic to your body and can strain the kidneys and intestines. You can get your protein from nuts, seeds and many vegetables. • Why not try a juice cleanse, a detox diet, two weeks off sugar and caffeine or conquering your nicotine habit? • Begin or update an EXERCISE program. Stretch to awaken your body. Yoga stretching and Chi-gong are great for maintaining your youthfulness and flexibility. Tone muscles with some weights, and do some aerobic activity for strengthening your heart and building endurance. Exercise will relax and revitalize you, and also provide a rush of those feel good brain endorphins. • Beef up the produce: Make every meal at least 70% veggie. Enjoy fresh vegetable juices, a large green salad with kale or dandelion greens (great for your kidneys), or steamed/roasted veggies to enjoy nature’s bounty. • Spring is liver and gall bladder season: Milk Thistle is a great for the liver, and a detoxifier. And flaxseeds help eliminate toxic material from the intestines. • Melt away stress and toxins in a cleansing bath: Add 2 cups of Epsom salts and 5 drops of your favorite essential oil to your bath. Epsom salts neutralize toxins in the body, regenerate organs and relax muscles. • WATER, WATER, WATER!: Water flushes toxins! Add a little lemon lime and/or cucumber (which you can slice & freeze into ice cubes) to help alkalize your body and boost your bone health.
