It’s truly heart-warming when you get an email like this. I thought I’d share it. Hey Mr. Lavin and Powder Blues- This is a note from a fan who was in attendance last night at the Fan Club. The only complaint from all who attended was that we wanted another two or three more hours. It was a wonderful performance. There was a true spirit of joy and positive energy in your playing. I haven’t seen the band for a while, and the 2014 band is red hot. This is true music professionalism at its best. Wow! Some friends of mine from northern BC were in town, and just by luck were staying at the Comfort Inn down the block. We didn’t know you were playing at the Fan Club till Friday, but immediately reserved tickets. We are all old fans from the early days. Just before the show, we went into the back alley to (get some air). I pointed out the Penthouse nightclub. My friends didn’t know about the wonderful music history of that building, as described in the great book “Liquor, Lust and The Law”. The great musicians who played there would be Powder Blues fans, that’s for sure. You guys are really keeping the tradition and the spirit of the blues alive and well, and thanks to people like you it will never die. So keep on rockin till you drop! Louis Armstrong said “Musicians don’t retire, they stop when there’s no more music in them.” I hope to see you again soon, thanks again for a truly memorable show. Paul Brooke, North Vancouver
