Ive added three images to my Long Island Sound Rock series. This is a good opportunity to say a bit about my style or approach. I photograph any object that speaks to me on a personal level and I apply a formal approach, using those elements and principles of design as taught in college foundation courses... form, color, space, rhythm, repetition, etc., to compositional advantage. Having said that, landscape photography is nothing like commercial photography or studio art/painting. There is no safety net or control over the elements and changing light.The context changes rapidly, i.e., the elements and the light, so often one has to come back several times to get it right. But, thats where the fun begins... getting the image youve developed in yours minds eye on those tiny little pixels that have replaced film. These were taken last week on a day when the sun cast a yellow glow over the waters surface. The water is warm now and oh so inviting! Alison Perry ARTs photo.
