Ive always been a bit of an over-achiever. After the second - TopicsExpress

Ive always been a bit of an over-achiever. After the second call from the elementary school yesterday, I checked out the youngest child with a horrible cough and sore throat. After a run into our pharmacy (shout out to Craig Hyatt at Our Home), a Tbs. of med and a change into PJs, I wrapped him in a blanket and turned on a movie. An afternoon in which I could do about anything. House certainly needed cleaning. A book with only one chapter written screamed for me to continue. A conference Im leading Saturday needed some fine-tuning to the videos. I could write a few blogs for future postings to get ahead. Edit a manuscript Id already completed. Do a few loads of laundry. You know, all the things to project an image of perfection to the world. Instead, I took off my jewelry and shoes and crawled into bed with my little man. For the next two hours, we watched a movie, held hands, rubbed each others heads. Talked a little, dozed in and out. And snatched time from the worm-hole intent on stealing it from me. Instead of doing things to please others, to show the world I can do it all, I left dirty dishes in the sink and clothes on the floor and snuggled under a blanket of Ill never get this time back. Galatians 1:10 NIV writes, Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. On your to-do list today, are you pleasing Him or pleasing man? ~ Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone has a blessed day and the sinus drippings stay at a minimum!! If you enjoyed todays post, please share His words of encouragement with others. Thank you! ~
